Covid update: Lateral flow tests no longer required

As of the 28th April WCS Care will no longer require staff and visitors to take lateral flow tests before coming into our care homes, which puts us in line with government guidance.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting the continuation of testing and mask wearing for this extended period, during which we know we’ve prevented additional infections coming into the homes.

As you are aware, staff and visitors are no longer required to wear masks in WCS homes however if you would like to wear a mask you may continue to, and we would ask that you wear a courtesy mask in the following circumstances:
a. when experiencing Covid-like or cold symptoms until symptoms have passed/coughing or sneezing has stopped
b. during an outbreak in the home
c. a resident requests a mask is worn when receiving personal care

In future, we may ask that masks are worn in the event of multiple cases until the risk of infection has subsided.

Once again, I would like to thank all of our residents, relatives and staff for their dedication and perseverance through the most challenging of times. It is hard to quantify the support we have received over the last 3 years, but please let me assure you that it has made a difference to everyone who lives or works at WCS Care.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to speak to your home’s management team.
